This could have been terrible. Like the time I heard muzak'd versions of The Police on Kroger in-store radio, there is nothing quite so terrible as hearing a good song made pusillanimous by performers aiming not to offend--unless it is hearing songs that weren't any good to begin with made worse.
And then we heard it: "Nobody knows what it's like to be the bad man...."
