Nobody knows what it's like to...BINGO!

Friday night, mrrranda and I went to The Blue Nile, an Ethiopian restaurant (for real! don't laugh). We were seated right next to two people playing acoustic guitar. They played "The House of the Rising Sun" and Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," and other songs that I don't recall.

This could have been terrible. Like the time I heard muzak'd versions of The Police on Kroger in-store radio, there is nothing quite so terrible as hearing a good song made pusillanimous by performers aiming not to offend--unless it is hearing songs that weren't any good to begin with made worse.

And then we heard it: "Nobody knows what it's like to be the bad man...."

The Who. Behind Blue Eyes. BINGO!

Thanks, kipplentoast, for the Emo Kid Street Musician square on Art Fair Bingo. Although I saw plenty of people torturing perfectly good guitars at the art fairs, I never did see an Emo Kid Street Musician. But it certainly improved our enjoyment of the evening's entertainment.
