Gulliver's Travels references

I've lately been surprised by the number of oblique biblical references I make. Perhaps more surprising, though, is the number of references I make to Gulliver's Travels.

Just now, for example, bobbyshaftoe was talking about HDTV, and how the pornography industry is hesitant to adopt this new format because it might make the blemishes and imperfections of the actors and actresses all the more apparent. I compared HDTV to Gulliver's visit to the Brobdignagians, where Gulliver experiences a horror of the human form due to his examination of their magnified forms: pores, wrinkles, tongues, hairs--all enormous.
