It begins in earnest

From August 24th to September 2nd, my intention is to drive a school bus, loaded up with numerous close friends, to Guadalajara and back.

On the return trip, we sincerely hope that the bus will be weighted down with substantial amounts of mescal and tequila, but perhaps not so much that the border patrol will freak out on us.

I apologize to those of you who have heard this tale so many times before. I tell it again because, on this very day, I bought the bus that will take us there: a shiny red 1985 Bluebird school bus on a GMC chassis with a Chevy 366 engine.

I can hardly explain how excited I am.
